Northern Highland - American Legion State Forest, Shelter Bay Resort
offers an excellent vacation opportunity in Wisconsin's beautiful
Northwoods. Boulder
Junction is just 3-1/2 miles away over black top roads.
 Our 5 cabins and 3 new condos are nicely scattered among 7 acres of
woods. Some cabins overlook the "Sheltered Bay" of Fishtrap
Lake. Cabins range in size from 1 to 3 bedrooms; and are completely modern
and immaculately clean. Automatic gas heat keeps them comfortable in
spring, fall and winter.
A gradual sloping sandy beach
and well-marked swimming area is
enjoyed by all.
 Our
waterfront is lighted to guide you safely off the lake at night.
There is also a nice boat landing should you choose to bring your own
boat.
Swing sets, slide, eagle's nest, sand box, horseshoes, volleyball
and badminton courts are located on a large flat grassy playground area.
The grounds are well lighted and there is a campfire area.
Fishtrap Lake's 329 acres are nicely spotted with bays and islands to make
it a safe and scenic place to boat or fish in any kind of weather. By boat
from Fishtrap Lake you may travel to High Lake's 756 acres and the scenic
3.5 miles of the Manitowish River Flowage above the Fishtrap Dam.

*Johnson Creek Flowage to Johnson Lake
*Nixon Creek to Nixon Lake and on to Partridge Lake
*Over the Fishtrap Dam to Boulder Junction, Boulder Lake and
on to Island Lake, which is the beginning of the Manitowish Chain

DIRECTIONS
Take the shortest route to US 51, follow 51 to approximately 6
miles north of Woodruff. Turn right on Cty M and follow it through the
town of Boulder Junction, across the Manitowish River, turning right at
the first crossroad and follow our signs to 9540 Fishtrap Lake Road. |
